Leaders wanted for Brecon Beacons!

Following the success and popularity of last year’s programmes, Cadet Vocational Qualifications Organisation (CVQO—the people behind BTEC) are again managing a number of exciting leadership course opportunities for cadets in 2011.

A course with a difference will take place in the Brecon Beacons from the 24th-29th October 2011, offering participating cadets an

Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 3 qualification in Leadership.

As with the majority of CVQO’s portfolio of awards, the criteria needed to complete the qualification is covered by practical activities already taking place. To achieve the ILM Level 3, all cadets will need to do is pass the course!

The course is run in partnership with Outposts Ltd, an adventure training company specialising in expeditions and leadership training. Last year’s cadets were involved in a week’s activities including mountain navigation, canoeing, abseiling and rock climbing.

Each team will be led by expert instructors from Outposts. The course is free of charge, and open to cadets of all services who will be 17 by 1 Sept 2011.

Owing to the challenging nature of the course, you will need to confirm your fitness level.

Places for the course are extremely limited, and will be allocated on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis with space for only 36 cadets. In order to register your interest, please contact Plt Off Hopper as soon as possible.
